Frequently Asked Questions
Is there any other means of getting to the scheduler other than
secure shell?
ssh is the preferred mode since all the session passwords are
sent encrypted through the network. Other logon modes like telnet,
rlogin, ftp are disabled on the scheduler.
There is trouble viewing the PBS GUI on the windows machine.
Can an executable compiled on one server be ported onto another?
Currently, the development and production netwroks are running
different versions of the RedHat Linux. But the scheduler and
production network are on the same version, and hence a program
compiled on scheduler should work on the production cluster.
