EPA created The National Service Center for Environmental Publications (NSCEP) as the Agency's central repository and distribution center for EPA publications.
NSCEP produces the Annual EPA National Publications Catalog and maintains an in-house inventory of 5,000 current EPA publications available to the public free of charge. More than 420,000 documents are distributed to a transnational audience on a monthly basis.
NSCEP is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is maintained and operated by Lockheed-Martin, Inc. under contract with the EPA's Information Resources Management Division, Office of Administration and Resources Management in Cincinnati.
Unique Environmental Features
Green Power
- EPA offsets 100 percent of the electricity consumption at the Agency’s facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio, including NSCEP, with renewable energy certificates (RECs) purchased through the Agency's current blanket green power contract. Learn more about EPA's current and past blanket green power contracts.
- In late fiscal year (FY) 2008, EPA finalized a contract for 17 million
kilowatt hours (kWh) worth of renewable
energy certificates (RECs), or "green tags," to offset electricity
consumption at the Agency’s facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio, including
NSCEP. This purchase partially offset these facilities' electricity consumption
in FY 2008, offset 100 percent of their electricity consumption in FY 2009,
and partially offset their electricity consumption in FY 2010. (The remainder
was offset through the Agency's blanket
contracts.) Procured through the Defense
Energy Support Center
,
this contract supported wind power generation in Texas.
