Intent to Sole Source to SAPHYMO GmbH for Calibration and Repair of GammaTRACER Detector

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Radiation and Indoor Environments National Laboratory (R&IE), under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Rules (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, intends to issue a sole source purchase order to SAPHYMO GmbH for calibration and repair of a GammaTRACER Detector.

The justification is as follows. SAPHYMO is the original instrument manufacturer of the GammaTRACER detector. Their parts and calibration capabilities are proprietary and no other parts and calibration services will be compatible with the system in existence at R&IE. SAPHYMO is the only vendor which has the combination of expertise and parts availability.
