Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Purchase Order to the Teratology Society for the Support of “Healthy Lifestyles for Parents and Children” Conference

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Research and Development intends to award a fixed price purchase order to the Teratology Society (TS) for the Support of “Healthy Lifestyles for Parents and Children” Conference June 26-30, 2010, in Louisville, Kentucky, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The Teratology Society is comprised of members in the U.S. and internationally, from academia, industry, government, research centers, and teaching, research and clinical hospitals. The purchase order will include the following items:

1) Promote research and the exchange of ideas and research results that reveal the causes, improve the diagnosis and treatment, and prevent the occurrence of abnormal development and birth defects;

2) Communicate that information to physicians, public health officials, concerned health advocacy and lay groups and other interested parties that promote the elimination of birth defects when possible and amelioration of them when they occur;

3) Provide education and training on the causes, mechanisms, treatment and prevention of birth defects.

NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm who believes it is capable of meeting these requirements may submit a response, which if received within 10 calendar days will be considered. Responses to this posting must be submitted in writing. A determination not to compete the proposed Purchase Order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
