are offered free to employees of multi-state, state, local, and
Tribal air pollution control agencies. Individuals outside the United
states who would like to participate in APTI self-instructional,
classroom and telecourses should contact the APTI
International Training Coordinator at FAX number 919-541-5678.
Web CoursesWeb courses are available in two formats; as PDF files in which the user can download the material and also as online courses in which all material is contained in the Web course. Web courses do not require registration.
Computer-based CoursesFor computer-based courses, all material is included within the Web application and no material needs to be downloaded. APTI is in the process of developing and converting classroom and self-instructional courses to Web-based courses. As these courses are completed, they will be added.Classroom CoursesClassroom courses are presented by recognized professionals, including consultants and university faculty of the Area Training Centers (ATC). Courses are taught at these universities and other locations as indicated in the APTI consolidated classroom schedule. Persons registering for classroom courses must pass a post test, complete class assignments, attend/participate in class sessions, and submit a course evaluation in order to receive a certificate of completion. (Other requirements may apply depending on the nature of the course). Employees of multi-state, state, local, and Tribal air pollution control agencies must register for scheduled classroom courses by contacting the course provider/host. Individuals from the private sector are welcome to participate in classroom courses, but should contact the sponsoring organization for space and fee information no less than two weeks prior to the course start date.TelecoursesThere are two types of telecoursesAPTI 300 & 400 level telecoursesTelecourses are delivered through satellite broadcasts received in designated downlink sites. Telecourses are designed for a broad audience and use audiovisual materials that are often not available in other courses. As with classroom courses, instructors are recognized professionals in the subject area. To register for a 300 or 400 level course, you must first contact your downlink site coordinator and then register through APTI using the APTI application form.WorkshopsMost workshops are focused on emerging issues and specialty areas. For telecourse workshops, you must contact the appropriate Air Pollution Distance Learning Network (APDLN) Site Coordinator responsible for the site that you will be attending. Seating at most sites is limited, so please contact the appropriate site coordinator in advance of the broadcast date to insure seating and availability of course materials. There is no APTI registration for workshops.Self-instructional CoursesSelf-instructional courses are available free of charge to employees of multi-state, state, local and Tribal government air pollution control agencies. Please check the Web courses to see if the course is available online.
