In celebration of Earth Day, EPA hosted a very successful eCycling Event on Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC. A crew of more than 115 enthusiastic volunteers filled 2 tractor trailers (53 feet long each) with an estimated 30 tons of electronics material for recycling. More than 375 cars, walk ups, and bike-ups made up of individuals and businesses dropped off their unwanted computer-related equipment and cell phones, PDAs, and accessories.

This was EPA's second annual eCycling event.  All of this material will be recycled in a manner that is safe for the environment.
