Managers and Supervisors

Role

Managers and supervisors work in consultation with their servicing Human Resources Staff and the Hispanic Employment Program Manager to develop a targeted recruitment strategy. Clearly describing the work and identifying the competencies for the positions will improve the recruitment efforts.

Managers and supervisors have an opportunity to show support by encouraging, coaching and providing leadership to new employees.

Recruiters

Appropriate training should be provided to recruiters to ensure that they project a professional image, have technical expertise, and are knowledgeable of hiring mechanisms.

Basic Policies

Managers and supervisors should review basic hiring policies on a regular basis to ensure that correct information is given to applicants. It is critical that your servicing Human Resources Staff be consulted prior to starting any recruitment initiative.
