Role
The Office of Civil Rights (OCR), provides Agency-wide direction, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of equal opportunity and affirmative employment objectives. It establishes the broad administrative policies for success in the Agency's equal opportunity and affirmative employment initiatives. The OCR Director reports to the Administrator and is a member of the Agency's senior staff.
The OCR advises and helps senior- and mid-level management officials establish, maintain, and conduct programs to promote equal opportunity and affirmative action at all levels and segments of the Agency's work force.
Special Emphasis Program Managers
The main objective of the Special Emphasis Program Manager (SEPM) is to help EPA become an Agency that adequately reflects the nation by increasing the employment, development, and advancement of the protected groups through:
- Policy advice
- Internal networking
- Community outreach
- Education
