SmartWay Trends, Indicators, and Partner Statistics (TIPS)


MPG Range: Class 8B Fleets, All Fuel Types

Class 8B trucks are the primary choice of transport for much of America's freight. This chart is based on 2011 Truck Carrier Partner data.  Class 8B trucks range from as low as 3 MPG to about 8 MPG, with the vast majority falling between 5 and 7 MPG.  Each point on the graph represents an individual fleet’s performance.
