Pesticide News Story: Checklists for EPA’s pesticide registration application content review on website

EPA uses checklists to determine if all necessary data (studies) are submitted for some of the applications subject to a registration service fee under the Pesticide Registration Improvement Renewal Act (PRIA). These checklists are now available to applicants for pesticide registration, who will find them helpful in reviewing their application. EPA is providing the checklists to help pesticide registration applicants pass the 21-day initial content review. Checklists for conventional, antimicrobial and certain biopesticide product registration applications and applications to amend an antimicrobial label are available at http://www.epa.gov/pesticides/fees/data_require_check.html. EPA has observed that deficiencies in these data are a major factor in the extension of PRIA due dates. The checklists include links for the appropriate guideline that describes how to conduct the study. As additional checklists are developed for other types of applications, they will be posted to this web page.
