Restricted Use Products (RUP) Report
Restricted Use Products (RUP)
- Owen Beeder
EPA registers pesticides and their use on specific pests and under specific circumstances. For example, "Pesticide A," registered for use on apples, may not be used legally on grapes, or an insecticide registered for "outdoor use" may not legally be used inside a building. In some circumstances, use of a registered pesticide may be restricted to pesticide applicators with special training.
The "Restricted Use" classification restricts a product, or its uses, to use by a certified pesticide applicator or under the direct supervision of a certified applicator. (For detailed information on the "Restricted Use" Classification, consult 40 CFR Subpart I, 152.160-175)
In the RUP Report, the following items are listed - registration number, product name, status, registration status, company name, and active ingredients.
- RUP Updated List - List of pesticide active ingredients with restricted use product changes as of April 2013.
