Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for modified Trichoderma reesei from Danisco US, Inc., J-13-0050

On August 23, 2013, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Danisco US, Inc. submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J-13-0050. The recipient microorganism is a Trichoderma reesei strain which was modified to produce the new microorganism. The generic name for the new microorganism is T. reesei, cbi strain. This microorganism will be used to produce α-amylase.
