June 20, 1999 Educator's Workshop

"New Educational Materials for the Chemical Engineering Curriculum"

The first educator's workshop was held on June 20, 1999, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was held in conjunction with the ASEE National meeting at the same location. It was well attended by 35 professors and two students, representing 24 different schools. Since this first workshop, an interest in Green Engineering has been expressed by even more people in academia as well as industry.

Those who were able to attend found the workshop highly applicable to their courses. The following pie chart (click on chart to enlarge) shows the distribution among the participants of how they applied their green engineering knowledge following the June 1999 workshop:
