Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) for Pichia pastoris strain GS115 from Diversa Corporation
On August 2, 2004, the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) received a Microbial Commercial Activity Notice (MCAN) from Diversa Corporation submitted under the biotechnology regulations promulgated under the Toxic Substances and Control Act (62 FR 17910 (April 11, 1997); codified at 40 C.F.R. Part 725). The MCAN was given the EPA tracking designation J-04-03. Except for production volume, the submission is non-Confidential Business Information (non-CBI). The recipient microorganism is Pichia pastoris strain GS115. The new microorganism is DVSA-LAC-001. This microorganism will be used to produce an enzyme for use as a processing aid in the production of fragrances and flavors with a citrus-like fragrance or essence.
