Status: Closed. DNT for certain chemicals in the aniline category was because of insufficient exposure and adequate data to reasonably predict or determine risk. All tests required by the consent order have been completed. Test results have been forwarded to the Risk Assessment Division for review and disposition. Attachment C for information on Voluntary Product Stewardship Program activities relating to these chemicals.
Announced Receipt of Test Data
Hoechst Celanese submitted results of a micronucleus test (male and female mice) for 2,4-dinitroaniline and 4-chloroaniline (53 FR 45385; November 9, 1988).
SOCMA submitted acute toxicity of aniline to the freshwater amphipod (Gammarus fasciatus); acute toxicity of 2,6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline to freshwater alga (Selenastrum Capricornutum) and Daphnia magna; acute toxicity of 2-chloroaniline to the freshwater amphipod (Gammarus fasciatus) and rainbow trout (Salmo giardineri) (54 FR 25167; June 13, 1989).
SOCMA submitted a mouse bone marrow micronucleus assay for aniline (54 FR 32117; August 4, 1989).
Chronic toxicity of aniline and 2-chloroaniline to Daphnia magna (54 FR 33773; August 16, 1989).
Early life stage toxicity of 2,6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline to rainbow trout (54 FR 30605; August 31, 1989).
