Status: Closed. DNT based on ongoing testing by government and industry. Testing has since been completed. Test results have been forwarded to the Risk Assessment Division for review and disposition.

Identification of Chemicals

Benzidine and its congeners o-toluidine and o-dianisidine constitute a family of synthetic organic chemicals with a biphenyl moiety. These substances are used in the synthesis of dyes, referred to collectively as the benzidine congener dyes.
