The Cresol Program Panel of the Chemical Manufacturers Association submitted the following tests for o-, m-, and p-cresol: in vitro cytogenetic assay on o-, m-, and p-cresol measuring chromosomal aberration frequencies with CHO cells; unscheduled DNA syntheses in rat primary hepatocytes on m-cresol; mouse lymphoma mutation assay on m- and p-cresol; in vitro transformation of BALB/C-3T3 cells on m- and p-cresol; developmental toxicity evaluation of o, m-, or p-cresol (rabbit, rat); an analytical chemistry report in support of in vitro genetic toxicity assessment of o-, m-, and p-cresol (53 FR 27564; July 21, 1988).
