International Activities

Through its Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, EPA participates in international efforts to harmonize test guidelines, work cooperatively with other countries on sound chemical management, negotiate and implement global/regional standards and instruments, and provide pollution prevention assistance.

Information from the existing chemicals programs is included in eChemPortal, a search engine maintained by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which provides access to government databases of chemical information from around the world. exit EPA

EPA also participates in the Strategic Approach to International Chemical Management (SAICM) exit EPA, a policy framework to foster the sound management of chemicals adopted by the International Conference on Chemicals Management in 2006.
