So it is not surprising that across the OECD member countries, citizens are intensifying their demand that administrations adopt an overall greener approach. Among OECD countries, government consumption of products and services stands at 5 to 15 percent of total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Increasingly, environmental policy-makers aim at implementing greener public purchasing to achieve sustainable production and consumption.
