Abstract:

The Guidelines for Water Reuse is an update of a similar document developed jointly by EPA and Camp, Dresser & McKee, Inc. in 1992. As with the earlier version, a committee of national and international experts in the field of water reclamation was established to draft new text and to update case studies. This document updates state reuse regulations and provides a list of state contacts. The document describes industrial reuse practices including reuse practices outside of the U.S, updates the discussion of treatment technologies in all areas of water reclamation, and expands the discussion of health issues to include emerging chemicals and pathogens. Finally, this document provides current information on economic, user rates, and project funding mechanisms.
