Linda Barr, USEPA Office of Solid Waste (renamed Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery on January 18, 2009) and Emergency Response
Linda Barr is currently the Acting Chief of the Waste Minimization Branch of the USEPA Office of Solid Waste (renamed Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery on January 18, 2009). Ms. Barr has over 15 years of experience working on hazardous waste programs, including ten years addressing mercury use and emissions issues. Ms. Barr has presented USEPA work toward developing mercury product and use inventories, as well as mercury product collection, storage, recycling and disposal programs and challenges for a variety of domestic and international forums. She has advanced efforts to raise public awareness of the hazards of mercury, reduce uses of mercury in products, and has assisted in facilitating technology transfer to better understand the extent of mercury use and contamination in developing countries. Ms. Barr holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Economics and Marketing and a Master of Arts degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa.

John James, Maine Department of Environmental Protection
John James is an Environment Specialist with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

Denis Bergeron, Maine Public Utility Commission
Denis Bergeron is the director of the Energy Programs Division at the Maine Public Utilities Commission. Denis has worked for the Commission for 20 years on multiple energy issues in the electric and gas utility industries including industry restructuring, renewable energy portfolio requirements, resource planning, and efficiency programs. Before joining the Maine PUC, Denis was the staff engineer for the State of Utah Energy Office, where he served as the office expert on combined heat and power, solar energy, and energy efficiency programs.

Karen Knaebel, Vermont Agency of Natural Resources
Karen Knaebel has been the Mercury Education and Reduction Project Coordinator for the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation since 1998. Karen operates Vermont's Mercury Education and Reduction Program and oversees DEC's mercury product labeling program including other regulatory aspects. She has organized many reduction and outreach efforts that have included a statewide fever thermometer exchange; retail lamp, thermostat and button cell battery collection programs; and outreach to sensitive populations regarding fish consumption.

Sierra Fletcher, Product Stewardship Institute
Sierra Fletcher is an Associate for Policy and Programs at the Product Stewardship Institute, where she works on projects related to fluorescent lights, medical sharps, and other product stewardship issues. Sierra has worked on environmental and consensus building issues in the US, including Alaska, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. She has a master's degree in environmental policy and conflict resolution from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and an undergraduate degree in anthropology from Yale University.
