Many facilities find it useful to start the greening process with a self-assessment to determine what changes would make the most difference with respects to cost, worker health, or the environment. EPA has developed self-assessment forms to make this process easier. In some cases, EPA may be able to provide free assessments for interested facilities. Please contact your regional representative for more information. Also see the documents on the Tool Kit web page.
A wealth of information is available for facilities interested in greening their operations. For a quick snapshot of a number of different green programs implemented at tribal casinos, please see the Green Casinos: The Path to Maximizing Sustainability and Profits (PDF) (25 pp, 5.3MB, About PDF) presentation given at the 2010 Tribal Lands Forum.
The National Tribal Pollution Prevention Roundtable has resources available for casinos at their website.
The Pollution Prevention Resource Exchange’s Hospitality Hub can help guide you to resources available specifically for greening hotels.
