RE-Powering America’s Land
Draft Action Plan 2.0
Since its inception in 2008, RE-Powering America’s Lands has promoted renewable energy development on current and formerly contaminated lands, landfills and mine sites when such development is aligned with the community’s vision for the site. To define goals, articulate activities and make them transparent to its stakeholders, the Initiative periodically develops an action plan.
In May 2014, the Initiative took public comment on its Draft Action Plan 2.0, which details specific activities for the program over the next two years. The Agency received nearly 60 comments from private citizens, companies, consultants, states, city governments, environmental organizations, among others. EPA is in the process of reviewing the comments received and plans to consider and revise, as appropriate, Action Plan 2.0 based on the comments submitted.
