Average Payload across SmartWay Class 7 Fleets
Posted May 13, 2013
This chart shows the average payloads across SmartWay Class 7 truck fleets, based on 2011 data reported by Carrier Partners. Like Class 6 trucks, Class 7 trucks span a range of uses, with this higher weight-rated class including moving vans, dump trucks, city buses, tankers, tractor-trailers, and others.
The line is made up of individual points, each of which corresponds to one fleet's average payload. It indicates that the majority of payloads carried by SmartWay Carriers' Class 7 fleets range from about 4 to 8 tons. The data represent average payload when loaded, and do not include the vehicle weight or empty miles. To preserve confidentiality, no fleet name is associated with any data point.
