The test car list contains all vehicle and test information as either tested by EPA or reported to EPA by manufacturers. The test results are rounded to the nearest 0.1 mpg and are adjusted for the actual mileage on the test vehicle at the time the testing is performed. The test car list data is used to calculate the fuel economy label values as reported on www.fueleconomy.gov. These calculations are based on the 2006 rulemaking methodology designed to bring the miles per gallon (mpg) estimates closer to consumers’ actual fuel economy. The data have been collected by Model Year since 1984 and formatted as text or comma-delimited files for easy import into database or spreadsheet programs.
