Alabama was granted state program approval (SPA) in 1997. Six of the eight states in Region 4 have approved programs.

Percent of facilities in significant operational compliance with:

	Release prevention requirements	89%
	Release detection requirements	87%
	Both prevention and release detection requirements	80%
