Celebrating New York's Regional Digester
On March 27, 2012, USDA hosted a press event with AgSTAR and local representatives to celebrate the grand opening of the Cayuga County Soil and Water Regional Digester in Auburn. The Conservation District sought to address manure management issues in the region by developing a centralized digester where 35,000 gallons of manure could be trucked in from local dairy farms to be co-digested with food waste. AgSTAR applauds the project partners for their determination to see this innovative project become operational.
