- Brown County, along with US Energy Biogas Corp., is developing a gas to energy facility at each of its 2 landfills. One landfill has been closed since Oct. 96 (West) and the other will be closed in early 2003 (East). Between the 2 sites there will be 6 MW of electricity produced and sold back to Wisconsin Public Service. Estimates are that enough electricity will be produced to fuel 2,000 homes. Projects are estimated to be operational at the end of 2002.
