- Spotsylvania County has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The grant has provided the County $474,400 to implement an active gas recovery system at the Livingston Landfill. It is the County's intention to expand this active gas recovery system over time. The ultimate goal is to implement an LFG energy project at the facility depending on LFG production and the project's overall economic feasibility.
