- The College of Engineering of the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina (Universidad Nacional) has developed an LFG recovery project in the city of Olavarria. This is the first LFG project in the country financed through carbon credits to be sold through the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol. The Universidad Nacional worked together with the World Bank (WB) in many aspects of this project. Furthermore, the Community Development Carbon Fund, a WB carbon fund, will purchase the carbon credits for the next 10 years.
