April 8-9 The Second Meeting of the Mississippi River/Gulf of Mexico Watershed Nutrient Task Force will be held at the Pontchartrain Hotel, 2031 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA; (504) 524-0581, from 1:00-5:00 p.m.on April 8 and 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on April 9, 1998. Registration will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and is limited only by the space available. The room accommodates approximately 100 people. The Task Force includes Federal, State, and Tribal members, who are leading an effort to coordinate and support nutrient management and hypoxia-related activities in the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico watersheds. The purpose of this second meeting, held in coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is to have interactive discussions with stakeholders in the Gulf of Mexico area and with State officials actively involved in nutrient management activities.
