Charles Fox to be Assistant Administrator for Water at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the appointment of Robert Perciasepe as Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation. EPA's press release can be viewed on the Internet at http://www.epa.gov/water/new.html.

2) TEA-21/DOT Listening Sessions

The Department of Transportation will be sponsoring a series of listening sessions around the country to consult with partners and customers on implementation of the new Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21). Local watershed groups and state environmental agencies may be particularly interested in potential new funding to carry out storm water retrofits, best management practices, wetlands restoration, and other activities to restore and protect water resources. For more information, visit the Office of Wetlands, Oceans, and Watersheds website at http://www.epa.gov/owow/tea/.

3) EPA Shellfish Protection--New On-line Information Resource

EPA leads or participates in a number of programs and activities that help protect waters that support shellfish. The Office of Science and Technology has developed a website that includes 49 links to EPA websites and 8 links to other non-EPA websites that include information on shellfish-related programs. The website can be found on the Internet at http://www.epa.gov/waterscience/shellfish/index.html. For more information, contact Bill Kramer at 202-260-5824.
