1) Assistant Administrator Testifies Before Senate Subcommittee on Drinking Water

On March 3, 1999, EPA Assistant Administrator J. Charles Fox testified at an oversight hearing on the drinking water program before the Senate Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, and Drinking Water. The Assistant Administrator reported on EPA’s implementation of the Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments of 1996. He described the steady progress that EPA has made in carrying out the new amendments and the partnership with the drinking water community to implement the legislation. Dr. Norine Noonan, Assistant Administrator for Research and Development also testified on drinking water research.
