EPA Testifies on Rural Water Project Funding

On July 29, EPA testified at a hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Water and Power. The focus of the hearing was on federal funding options for rural water projects and opportunities for improved coordination. Representatives from the Rural Utility Service and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation also testified. EPA' s testimony focuses on the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, and how these funds can be used to support improvements in drinking water quality. EPA currently has an MOU with the Rural Utility Service and the Department of Housing and Urban Development to coordinate their grant funding at the state level.
