Water Quality Trading Assessment Handbook - Appendix: Pollutant Suitability Profile (PDF) - Includes Glossary and References (28 pp, 322K)

Pilot projects around the country have revealed important, unique characteristics to be considered in trading various types of pollutants. This final chapter includes Pollutant Suitability Profiles on four types of pollutants, phosphorous, nitrogen, temperature, and sediments. The profiles will follow the methodology suggested in Chapter 1: Pollutant Suitability; each pollutant will be examined for the form most conducive to trading, the impact characteristics of the pollutant within a waterbody, the common timing aspects to consider, and the various sources contributing to the total quantity of potentially available pollutant credits.
