Clean Water Act Section 404 Regulatory Training
Each year, the Wetlands Division of the Environmental Protection Agency hosts a training course on Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. This course provides federal and state governmental staff with valuable information on the permitting process for Clean Water Act Section 404 regulations.
Sponsored by the Wetlands Division of EPA's Office of Wetlands, Oceans, and Watersheds, in coordination with EPA's Region IX office, the Clean Water Act Section 404 Training Course will be held November 2-6, 2009 in San Francisco, California. This course provides an introductory overview of the 404 program and training in the application of the 404(b)(1) guidelines, as well as covering topics related to the 404 program such as the jurisdictional scope of 404, the Nationwide Permit Program, compensatory mitigation and elevated case procedures. The training is tentatively scheduled to start at 1:00pm on November 2 and conclude no later than 3:00pm on November 6.

*This program is primarily intended for EPA staff and other federal government officials involved in Clean Water Act, Section 404 activities. Priority will be given to these employees prior to the October 16th deadline. Following the deadline, registration forms from State, local and tribal officials will be accommodated in the order in which they were received.
