Girl Scout Council of the Pee Dee Area
Project Title: Nurturing Nature
Project Description: Girls learn to identify native plants and animals while improving and working on a five mile nature trail (clearing, identifying, signing and promoting the trail) and nature center at a state park. They were exposed to careers in science and natural resources.

Girl Scout Council of the Piedmont Area
Project Title: Linking Girls to the Land at Camp Mary Elizabeth
Project Description: Girls will do field studies and water testing to monitor the water quality of the creeks and habitats along the watershed. At Camp Mary Elizabeth, girls will see first-hand the effects of pollution and the benefits of preserving and protecting natural resources. Sharing this project with the community and advocating for the protection of the watershed environment is a critical element. The results of the girls’ water-quality tests will be publicly posted to benefit the local community.
