- BMW Manufacturing Co., of Spartanburg, South Carolina, describes its green power initiative, (PDF, 339 KB, 2 pp) which recovers methane gas from a nearby landfill and uses the energy to heat water and generate electricity for plant process and facility operations.
- The Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC, plant in LaVergne, Tennessee, describes a project to convert its tire-curing process (PDF, 399KB, 1 p.) from using hot water to using more energy-efficient nitrogen gas.
