Tribal Areas Designated under the 2006 Air Quality Standards

EPA plans to designate geographic areas as attaining or not attaining the 2006 24-hour PM2.5 standards by December 22, 2008. EPA has requested that states and tribes submit recommendations to EPA for PM2.5 attainment and nonattainment areas by December 18, 2007.

Tribal recommendations are presented below.

State information is available on the State Recommendations page.

The National Tribal Environmental Council Exit EPA Disclaimer and that Tribal Council's workgroup, The National Designation & Implementation Work Group have been addressing tribal issues with respect to the designation process.

The documents listed below are tribes' responses to EPA's request for recommendations on the designation of areas for the PM2.5 standard. These responses are provided here in PDF format for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY and do not represent EPA's views on the appropriateness or adequacy of a tribe's recommendations.

The quality of these PDF files are quite variable, and are the result of the quality of the documents provided by the tribes.
