Institute of Technology and the Long Island City Business Development
Corporation through funding by EPA Region 2's Solid Waste Program in order
to educate textile and apparel manufacturers in methods to reduce chemical
wastes, efficient source reduction and recycling techniques, raw material
control strategies, chemical alternatives, reuse opportunities, and energy-cost
saving practices.

(1997. free) - This manual provides a brief profile of the textiles
industry covering such topics as general industry information (economic
and geographic), a description of industrial processes, pollution outputs,
pollution prevention opportunities, federal statutory and regulatory framework,
compliance history, and description of partnerships that have been formed
between regulatory agencies, the regulated community, and the public.
