National Priorities List (NPL) Radiation Sites by State

Cleanup

The NPL is the list of national priorities among the known releases or threatened releases of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants throughout the United States and its territories. The NPL is intended primarily to guide the EPA in determining which sites warrant further investigation. All NPL sites are Superfund sites, uncontrolled or abandoned places where hazardous waste is located, possibly affecting local ecosystems or people.

Contaminated sites are ranked using the Hazard Ranking System (HRS) screening tool. Once public comments have been solicited and addressed, the sites that have a sufficiently high ranking are listed on the NPL.

The sites listed below have radioactive substances among the contaminants. Sites are listed by state.
