ERRATA: Joint NRC/EPA Sewage Sludge Radiological Survey:
Survey Design and Test Site Results

There is an error in Tables 1 and 2 of Appendix B of the published 1999 Joint NRC/EPA Sewage Sludge Radiological Survey: Survey Design and Test Site Results. The 135 pCi/g value for tritium should be 1.75 pCi/g.

The high reading was due to chemiluminescence in the sample from the materials that distilled with the water. This chemiluminescence gave a false positive. In the future all samples will be double distilled to reduce or eliminate as many interferences as possible, and the chemiluminescence monitor for the instrument will be turned on and monitored.

Tables 1 and 2 have been corrected in the on-line version of the report on this web site. You may print pages 3 and 6 from the Appendix B pdf or Table 1 and Table 2 from the html file and replace the existing pages in the published report.
