Federal guidance technical reports provide current scientific and technical information for radiation dose and risk assessment. They are used by federal and state agencies in developing radiation protection regulations and standards.

This report provides methods and data for estimating risks due to both internal and external radionuclide exposures. It includes coefficients for assessing cancer risks from environmental exposure to about 800 radionuclides. Both mortality and incidence risk coefficients are tabulated for inhalation, food and water ingestion, submersion in air and exposure to uniform soil concentrations. The age-averaged coefficients consider age-specific intake rates, dose modeling, and risk modeling. The information presented
in this report is for use in assessing risks from radionuclide exposure in a variety of applications ranging from environmental
impact analyses of specific sites to the general analyses that support rulemaking.

DCPAK3.02 The software and data package DCFPAK (Dose Coefficient File Package) allows electronic access to nuclear decay data and dose and risk coefficients for exposure to radionuclides. DCFPAK has been built in a series of versions designed to allow access to expanded capabilities as they are completed. Eight versions of DCFPAK were built from 1996 through 2008. The most recently released version is DCFPAK 2.2 (2008). The present version, called DCFPAK 3.0, improves DCFPAK 2.2 mainly by expanding the set of radionuclides addressed in the inhalation and ingestion scenarios. This version corrects an error in the module calculating the remainder dose, corrects the nuclear data file, uses of the ICRP lung deposition values as a f(amad) to improve the agreement with ICRP 72 values, and overcomes a Windows 7 and 8 issue in a commercial dll. The AcuteDose code computes age-specific absorbed dose coefficients for user specified commitment periods (integration times post an acute intake) and radionuclides for inhalation and ingestion intakes of radionuclides. The upper limits for the integrals are read from \DATA\AcutDose.INI.
The absorbed dose rate files were archived on the FGR-13 CD.
The user selects
- either the ingestion or inhalation data set,
- the age(s) of interest and
- the organ(s) to be processed.
To select multiple ages or organs mark the desired items by holding down and clicking the left mouse button. When prompted, the user should enter the radioisotope of interest.

RiskTab 2.2.1 Software Package

RiskTab_Full_setup.exe installs the application RiskTab, its associated data files, and places the RiskTab icon on the desktop. The default folder for the installation is \RiskTab however you can select or define a different folder. Accept the defaults on any remaining questions during the installation. The installation will end with the option of displaying this file. RiskTab can be invoked by clicking its icon on the desktop. To remove RiskTab from the computer click the executable UNINS000.EXE in the in the folder to which RiskTab was installed.
RiskTab tabulates the lifetime risk per unit intake by inhalation or ingestion for a user specific radionuclide and period of chronic intake. The tabulations are derived from risk as a function of age files archived on the FGR 13 CD. The CD files have been converted to direct access files to facilitate RiskTab access to the data for the user specified radionuclide. Age and gender specific intakes for the intake period are calculated assuming a uniform concentration of the radionuclide in air and water (and in the diet). The risk coefficients for the intake are per Bq inhaled or ingested over the exposure period.

The dose coefficients in this report are intended for use by federal agencies having regulatory responsibilities for protection of members of the public and/or workers. We also encourage their use by State and local authorities.

This report provides derived guides (limiting values) of radionuclide intake and air concentration for control of occupational exposure that are consistent with 1987 Federal Guidance Document, Radiation Protection Guidance to Federal Agencies for Occupational Exposure. The derived guides serve as the basis for regulations setting upper bounds on the inhalation and ingestion of, and submersion in, radioactive materials in the workplace. The report also includes tables of exposure-to-dose conversion factors for general use in assessing average individual committed doses in any population that is adequately characterized by Reference Man (ICRP 1975). This report supersedes Federal Guidance Report No. 10.

This report, which was prepared in cooperation with an Interagency Working Group on Medical Radiation formed on July 5, 1974, provides recommendations to the President for use by federal agencies in developing standards to reduce unnecessary radiation exposure due to medical uses of diagnostic x rays. It provides the basis for the federal guidance document, Radiation Protection Guidance to Federal Agencies for Diagnostic X-rays.

This report provides an analysis of the levels of fallout anticipated in 1963 and subsequent years following the programs of atmospheric nuclear weapons testing conducted through 1962. The report forecasts a substantial increase in the probable levels of radionuclides from fallout during 1963 with decreasing quantities in subsequent years.

It provided numerical values for RPGs for the whole body and certain organs of radiation workers, and for the whole body of individuals in the general population as well as average population gonadal dose.
