RadonLeaders.org
is an online learning and action network supporting the Radon Leaders
Saving Lives Campaign.
In 2007, leaders from CRCPD, AARST, and EPA’s Radon program launched the Radon Leaders Saving Lives Campaign, with the goal of doubling the number of lives saved from radon-induced lung cancer within 5 years.
RadonLeaders.org
was launched
in 2008. It connects radon stakeholders through interactive tools and resources, and features resources such as the Radon Change Package, which features proven strategies for reducing radon risks.

| Activities and Events in Your Area |
For the 2010 National Radon Action Month, the activity submission
process will be available via the
Radon Leaders Saving Lives Portal at
www.radonleaders.org/nram
. The
new online Activity Submittal Form
is a single event submission form
that will allow you to provide a more robust description of the
thoughtful and exciting activities and events you are planning in your
communities. In addition, you can make use of the many new features
offered by the Portal to help make 2010 our most active National Radon
Action Month to date. By using the
Portal, you will be able to see
updated activity information in real time and easily search activities
from past years. You also will be able to interact with a growing
community of radon leaders through blogs, forum discussions and more. To
submit your activities on the
online Activity Submittal Form
and access
the tools available on the Portal, you must become a member of the Radon
Leaders Saving Lives community. Joining is easy and free, become a
member today.
You will still be able to find all of the tools you need to plan
activities here on the National Radon Action Month Web site. Use the
Event
Planning Kit and find Resources and Materials that will make your activity a
success. Then, submit your activities
and interact with your peers using the
Radon Leaders Saving Lives Portal.

| Featured 2009 Activities |
- Event: 4-H School Enrichment Activities - In towns across Alabama, students learned about the health effects of radon
during National Radon Action Month. The 4-H School Enrichment programs worked with schools throughout January to raise awareness about radon through Radon Bingo.
- Event: National Radon Action Month Billboards - The Barren River
District in Kentucky displayed seven
billboards highlighting National Radon Action Month and the risks of radon.
The billboards were a great way to get out the word about radon.
- Event: New York State Radon Poster Contest Display -
New York displayed all 199 Radon Poster Contest entries at the Empire State Plaza Concourse in Albany and recognized the
winning poster and runner-ups.
- Event: Free Radon Information Dinner -
Utah offered a free fire safety and radon class, and a free dinner for
parents. The state discussed the hazards of residential fires and radon, and
provided free radon test kits.
- Event: 15-Minute Radio Interview on WDUN to promote National Radon Action Month - As part of the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Radon Education Program's outreach efforts, radon educators discussed radon and the importance of testing homes. The radio station broadcast covered over 18 counties in Northeast Georgia.
