ALERT: NARA at ARMA International (11-OCTOBER-2011)

The annual meeting of ARMA International takes place this year October 17-19 in the Washington, D.C. area (Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Center). There is a concentration of Federal events on Monday, October 17:

• The Opening Plenary Session (8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.) will feature a keynote presentation "Transforming Records Management" by the Archivist of the United States, David Ferriero.
• The U.S. Federal Government Roundtable Discussion (10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the Potomac C meeting room) will be hosted by NARA's Office of the Chief Records Officer and the Federal Records Centers Program.
If you are not registered for the ARMA International meeting, and you'd like to attend this event, please RSVP with your name, agency name, telephone, and email address to Tara McLoughlin (tara.mcloughlin@nara.gov 301-837-0467).
• The ARMA International Expo Hall will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Agency staff can attend these events free of charge. To take advantage of this, register in advance for an Expo badge by visiting http://www.arma.org/conference/2011/RegistrationLinks.aspx, selecting "Expo Visitor Only" and following the online prompts.

Pick up your badge at registration the morning of Monday, October 17 to get into the plenary, roundtable, or expo hall. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.

The afternoon educational sessions begin at 1:00 p.m. In order to attend the afternoon sessions, you must register and pay for the ARMA International meeting.
