This schedule authorizes the disposition of the record copy in any media (media neutral), excluding any records already in electronic form. Records designated for permanent retention must be transferred to the National Archives in accordance with NARA standards at the time of transfer.

Item a: Correspondence and related records pertaining to internal administration and operation
Destroy when 2 years old.
Item b: Telecommunications general files
Includes plans, reports, and other records pertaining to equipment requests, telephone service, and like matters.
Destroy when 3 years old.
Item c: Telecommunications statistical reports
Includes cost and volume data.
Destroy when 1 year old.
Item d(1): Telecommunications voucher files
Includes reference copies of vouchers, bills, invoices, and related records.
Destroy when 1 fiscal year old.
Item d(2): Telecommunications installation, change, removal, and servicing of equipment
Destroy 1 year after audit or when 3 years old, whichever is sooner.
Item e: Agreements and background data for telecommunications services
Destroy 2 years after expiration or cancellation of agreement.
Other records related to communications and telecommunications include: EPA 144 for IT infrastructure and implementation files; EPA 652 for telecommunications operational files; EPA 653 for messenger service files; EPA 654 for post office and private mail company records; and EPA 655 for mail and delivery service control files.
Reasons for Disposition:
Disposition conforms with NARA's General Records Schedule 12, item 2.
