NARA Disposal Authority:

This schedule authorizes the disposition of the record copy in any media (media neutral), excluding any records already in electronic form. Records designated for permanent retention must be transferred to the National Archives in accordance with NARA standards at the time of transfer.

Description:

Includes the record copy of message registers, logs, performance reports, daily load reports, and related and similar records. Also includes copies of incoming and original copies of outgoing messages, including SF 14, Telegraphic Message maintained by communications offices or centers.

Excludes: Copies maintained by the originating program office covered by EPA 110 - Office Administrative Files.

Disposition Instructions:

Item a: Message registers, logs, performance reports, daily load reports, and related and similar records

Item b: Incoming and outgoing messages maintained by communications offices or centers

Guidance:

General communications files such as plans, reports, and other records pertaining to equipment requests, statistics, and vouchers are covered in EPA 650 - General Communication Files.

Reasons for Disposition:

The following change was made in the 06/30/2012 version:

Conforms to NARA's General Records Schedule 12, item 3.

Item c for electronic mail and word processing system copies deleted 08/23/2006 pursuant to NARA Bulletin 2006-04.
