Overview

EPA Region 3 is soliciting final applications from eligible entities for projects to support demonstration, training, outreach and/or education to reduce exposure to indoor pollutants for K-12 schools. Final applications responding to this Request for Applications (RFA) must address the priority area – Schools.

The total amount anticipated to be awarded under this RFA is approximately $375,000 over a three year period. EPA Region 3 anticipates awarding approximately two (2) to three (3) grants under this RFA. Awards will range from approximately $50,000 - $100,000 with each project period covering three years and beginning after January 1, 2010.

There is no match requirement for grants issued under this RFA.

States, local governments, territories, Indian tribes and possessions of the U.S., including the District of Columbia, international organizations, public and private universities and colleges, hospitals, laboratories, other public or private non-profit institutions are eligible to apply.

Non-profit organizations described in Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code that engage in lobbying activities as defined in Section 3 of the Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 are not eligible to apply.

Projects funded under this RFA must be carried out within the jurisdiction of EPA Region 3, which consists of the states of Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.

Late proposals will not be accepted. The above dates (other than the November 20, 2009 application submission date) are anticipated dates and may be subject to change.
