Current Site Status

The site is the subject of Removal Actions being performed by Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) to two Administrative Orders (AOs). The AO which was entered into with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by Andrew DiDio III, Laura Ann DiDio, and L. A. D. General Contractors, Inc. requires those parties to excavate and properly dispose of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) contamination, much of it in waste sand-blasting grit, on the parcel of property owned by the DiDios. Additional excavation, post-excavation sampling and off-site disposal remains to be performed under that AO.

EPA and LC Associates, L.P. (LCA) had entered into an AO under which LCA removed the PCB-contaminated soil on their portion of the property. This work was completed in May 2003 and LC Associates has completed all its obligations under its AO with EPA.

Site Description

The site is comprised of Bucks County Tax Parcel 51-16-66, which is owned by Andrew DiDio III and Laura Ann DiDio, and certain portions of Tax Parcel 51-3-137, which is owned by LCA. PCB-contaminated sandblasting grit and soil are present on each parcel.

Threats and Contaminants

On the DiDio property, PCBs remain at low levels in the soil. This contamination will be removed and disposed.

Cleanup Progress

The extent of PCB contamination on the DiDio property is being determined. Post-excavation sampling reveals that PCBs remain above the cleanup level of 1 part per million (ppm) in some areas. That contaminated soil will also be excavated and disposed off site along with stock-piled materials.

Removal of PCB-contaminated soil from the LCA parcel has been completed.
