Current Site Status

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and LC Associates, L.P. (LCA) had entered into an Administrative Order (AO) under which LCA was required to excavate and properly dispose of all soils containing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and to restore the excavated areas. The Administrative Order was closed on September 30, 2002, with the PRP, demonstrating satisfactorily that it had performed and completed the actions specified in the Order.

Site Description

Until approximately 1987, the site property was used by former owners primarily for farming. However, portions of the site were used for a paint and auto-body shop and as a base of operations for a sandblasting and swimming pool painting business.

Site Responsibility

This site is being addressed by an EPA Superfund Removal Action pursuant to an Administrative Order.

Threats and Contaminants

Much of the waste sandblasting grit which had been left in several areas of the property contained PCB. PCBs above the cleanup level of 1 part per million (ppm) have been excavated and disposed of off site.

Cleanup Progress

LCA has excavated and disposed of off site all PCB contamination above the 1 ppm cleanup level. The affected areas of the site will be seeded and revegetated during this Spring, which will include the reestablishment of a wetland area.
